Size: 1.850 m²
Date: 2003

Notes:

This innovative, year round swim centre uses a timber grid shell to span across the 55m diameter pool hall. The Texlon ETFE system is used as a cladding element to the grid shell, not only because of its light weight and optical transparency but also due to its ability to cope with deflections.

Texlon is an ideal choice for swimming centres because of its durability and its imperviousness to chemical attack. Its high insulative qualities also mean that the roof system acts as a thermal blanket, reducing the energy lost through the roof to a minimum.
