In a large housing park in Hannover, this Texlon ETFE canopy system was designed to link together simple housing blocks and to create covered, connecting and light-filled atriums between the housing pairs.

This award winning housing scheme integrates private balconies and common spaces within these atriums, and creates spaces of peaceful escape with natural ventilation. Cool breezes are felt during the summer, while through the winter periods the Texlon system protects the atria from snow and allows plants to grow.

The savings in the internal cladding to the residential blocks more then paid for the roof and internal landscaping, making the scheme a highly cost effective solution.
