Afrikahaus Zoo Dresden

Location:
Germany, Dresden

Architect:

AIT Bauplanungs GmbH

Size: 1.505 m²
Date: 1998

Notes:

One of the highlights of a visit to the Zoo at Dresden is the African House. This exhibit houses Elephants, Mandrills, Naked Mole Rats and many bird species.

The internal climate is artificially heated to resemble the tropical habitat that these creatures are used to. The excellent insulative qualities of the Texlon system ensure minimum heat loss through the roof, while maximising light transmission.
