Size: 260 m²
Date: 2007

Notes:

Built towards the end of the 1800s, Canterbury Court was originally a fireproof industrial building for Hackney Carriages. Now, this three storey building has been refurbished to provide further offices, studios, workshop and rehearsal spaces. The new atrium was installed to brighten up previously dark and unusable rooms. Clad in Texlon® ETFE, the new atrium effectively brightens up the building but allows the space to be used all year round.

Texlon® ETFE rooves consist of cushions comprising of between 2 and 5 layers of a modified ETFE.  The ETFE foil is extruded into thin films and supported in an aluminum perimeter extrusion which is supported on the building frame. Texlon® ETFE foil is highly transparent but does not degrade under ultra-violet light.
