Size: 104 m²
Date: 2008

Notes:

This extension and refurbishment provides accommodation to expand the infant and junior schools at Northbury Primary. In order to create additional capacity, the floor plate of the existing building has been extended so that additional classrooms are directly accessible from the main circulation.

The extension will create a safe and secure new public approach by adding an important fourth façade. The new building has been designed to meet the standards required by the Barking Energy Action Area, one of the Mayor's four Energy Action Areas - an exemplar showcase of low carbon developments in London.

Texlon ETFE was chosen for its low embodied energy and high sustainability properties.
