Texlon® ETFE Facade for the Johan Cruijff Arena
Johan Cruijff Arena (former Amsterdam ArenA) has been renovating its stadium. The new eye catching façade is made of Texlon® ETFE by Vector Foiltec. A steel structure supports the 2,500 m² Texlon® ETFE foil cushion facade consisting of two layers of ETFE. Vector Foiltec is proud to be part of the team.
Seeing Clearly with ETFE
With the venue’s new Texlon® ETFE façade and its slim supporting steel structure, spectators are protected from the elements, but feel open to the surrounding city. The facade looks beautiful – from the interior and exterior. The effect of the bent facade is enhanced by using transparent foil in the center and different white colored foils next to the edges.
About the Arena
The large-scale renovation, called Project ArenA 2020, consists of three phases. Phase one concentrated on the east side of the arena. It includes a 2,500 m² Texlon® ETFE facade by Vector Foiltec, which enlarged the lower and upper tier concourses. This phase has been open to public since the beginning of 2018.
At the start of the 2018-2019 football season, Amsterdam Arena officially became Johan Cruijff Arena. The new logo of the Johan Cruijff ArenA was unveiled 2018, 25 April, the birthday of the legendary footballer Johan Cruijff.
