A minimalist single layer Texlon® ETFE Canopy protects arriving passengers at Adelaide Airport
Travelling stress free: this elegant single-layer Texlon® ETFE canopy makes arriving at Adelaide Airport smooth and convenient. As part of the Adelaide Airport’s Terminal Expansion Project it protects the drop-off area at the new international terminal.
Minimalistic Canopy Design Meets Practicality
The project consists of two canopies, both designed to make the drop off experience comfortable no matter the weather. Free standing and minimalistic – the design matches the elegant and modern architecture of the new terminal. But, there is more to it than simply a beautiful appearance. Firstly, the main Texlon® ETFE canopy covers the total length of the roadside of the Atura Circuit. As a result, arriving travelers can be dropped off easily via taxi, even during busy hours. Secondly, Vector Foiltec’s print technology allows for unique printing patterns. Therefore, the printed foil used for this project provides not only rain- but also sun-protection.
In addition, Vector Foiltec built a second canopy at the entrance of the terminal. Certainly, this is a very special one. For instance, it is built from one single piece of printed Texlon® ETFE, which is supported by radial cables. It connects the drop-off area with the airlock and entrance of the terminal. In conclusion, the two canopies make the arrival at Adelaide Airport as seamless as can be.
