Hotel and Shopping Center Stephankiez
Hotel Moa Berlin and the Moa Bogen shopping center set new standards both architecturally and ecologically. This project offers a mix of shopping facilities, office complexes and a hotel. Vector Foiltec’s Texlon® ETFE foil technology, with it’s lightweight and economical load-bearing structure, convinced the project planners that it was the right material choice for this project. The lightweight supporting structure of the atrium roof consists of aluminum frames connected to a decorative steel substructure.
Pleasant Atmosphere
The transparent roofing of the inner courtyard and the generous incidence of daylight create a pleasant atmosphere in the interior, inviting people to interact and linger. With an impression of airy lightness, large Texlon® ETFE foil cushions span the inner courtyard and provide a view of the sky. A dot matrix print pattern on the underside of the upper ETFE foil layer helps shield those below from excessive solar radiation.
With its light and elegant appearance, the Texlon® ETFE roof ensures a high quality of user comfort, and noticeably improves the overall sense of well-being in the building.
