Sustainable Texlon® ETFE Roof
In March 2020 the new head office for Jotron at Ringdalskogen Næringspark opened. Located in Larvik, Norway, the office includes a large sustainable, transparent Texlon® ETFE roof atrium over the building’s core. This allows a generous amount of light in to the space below. We designed, engineered, supplied and installed the five layer Texlon® ETFE cushion roof for the head office. The barrel shape of the eight cushions perfectly fits into the buildings design. In addition to the ETFE cushions, our scope of work also includes the steel structure.
Sustainability in Mind
The building was designed by Profoyn. Format Eiendom was responsible for the project management and is the owner of the project. Both, Jotron and Format Eiendom had the same goal for a building with a clear environmental profile. This is where Texlon® ETFE performs. It has a long service life and is easy to maintain. Further, its lightweight feature allowed for a reduction in the amount of steel structure. As a result, our system combined with the energy concept, the team created an environmentally friendly, sustainable building.
Jotron leads the development of communication solutions for airports, ships and offshore installations. The building contains their office, production and warehouse, with additional capacity to rent space to other businesses.
