Canopy Links Mall to Station
Tampines Mall is a suburban shopping mall located in the eastern part of Singapore, operated by CapitaLand, one of Asia’s largest diversified real estate groups. Changi Airport Group and CapitaLand went into a partnership and created the iconic landmark Jewel Changi Airport. A project where we performed with our Texlon® ETFE system, by adding canopies.
Strategically planning is essential while designing a shopping and entertainment center. Defining walkways and providing as much comfort to visitors as possible is extremely important. This was also the goal for Tampines Mall operators. To reach this goal, they let Vector Foiltec engineer, deliver and install a dedicated single layer Texlon® ETFE canopy. The canopy links the mall with the heavily trafficked Tampines Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station. The ETFE foils are printed with a silver ink to provide shelter from the sun while walking under the canopy. This is also provides further protection from rain.
