Shopping Mall with a Texlon® ETFE Canopy
Come and visit the shopping mall Northpoint City, the largest in Northern Singapore. If you arrive by bus, you have the chance to be sheltered from the elements by an impressive Texlon® ETFE canopy. 23 cushions protect visitors as they enter and exit the shopping mall. In total, the three canopies contain an area of 340 m². The bus interchange was one of the improvements of the already existing Northpoint Shopping Centre. The connection of surrounding areas and transport nodes have been significantly improved the shopping mall. The upper ETFE cushion layer is printed with a silver dot matrix to provide enough sun protection – this also helps to intensify the lighting at night.
Northpoint City is the first and largest integrated mixed development in Northern Singapore. It belongs to Frasers Property Singapore.
Awards
In 2021, Northpoint City won the IES (Illumination Engineering Society) Illumination Award of Merit for its outdoor lighting design. Further very important awards of North Point City are: BCA Green Mark Award – Gold Plus, 2017, SILA Commercial Landscape Silver Award, 2019 and BCA Construction Excellence Award (Excellence), 2020.
