Several Canopies covering over 30,000 m2
Sentosa is Singapore`s premier island resort getaway. It is a one-stop tourist destination which offers a unique blend of leisure and recreational facilities, including family attractions, sea sports, golf courses and hotels. Texlon® ETFE cladding was selected to cover several canopies covering over 30,000 m2. These canopies used varying print patterns to ensure ambient comfort and protect visitors from solar gain. If visitors feel comfortable under the canopies they spend more time in the resort and will visit it more often.
The Texlon® ETFE technology from Vector Foiltec convinced the investors in particular from the point of view of its low weight, which enables a light and economical supporting structure. The Texlon® ETFE cladding installation was performed using rope access techniques and Vector Foiltec’s unique trafficable netting system which enabled other trades to work below without significant exclusion zones.
The top layer of ETFE foil is printed with a graphic grid. The architects at DP Architects PTE Ltd have selected different prints. The versatile design options of Texlon® ETFE cushion technology helped Vector Foiltec to give the canopies a modern face. LED lights accentuate the cushions on the canopies and create a memorable impression.
