Providing Shelter for Shoppers
Imagine, you are on the way to your favorite shopping and dining destination by train – and it is raining or the sun is shining tireless. you could use some shelter. Happy are those ones who are sheltered by a Texlon® ETFE roof or canopy. A great example for providing shelter to shopping mall visitors is the White Sands Shopping Mall, in Singapore. The Mall offers various shopping and dining options. During the renovation of White Sands Shopping Mall, a canopy for the connection between the MRT station (Pasir Ris, Mass Rapid Transit (MRT)) and the mall was required.
Solution for Connection Between a Station and a Mall
The solution was a Texlon® ETFE cushion system on top of the canopy and glass panels on the sides. The two layer Texlon® ETFE canopy was built with alternating transparent and white pigmented ETFE foils – a great effect which perfectly fits to the architecture of the mall. The Texlon® ETFE canopy creates a safe and comfortable environment, providing shelter from sunshine, rain and wind.
