Piterland Waterpark with Texlon® ETFE Dome
Piterland is a sports and entertainment complex located in St. Petersburg, Russia. It is covered by an amazing Texlon® ETFE dome, with a wood structure, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The waterpark’s main element under the huge roof is the “Black Pearl” from the “Pirates of the Caribbean”. According to legend, it crashed and ended up on the shores of the Gulf of Finland. The huge amount of natural daylight coming through the Texlon® ETFE roof elements bathes all of the attractions in the right amount of light.
The dome of the waterpark is over 90 meters in diameter and has a height of nearly 50 meters. It is impressive from both the inside and outside. The huge dome can be seen from the Yakhtennyy Most bridge.
We delivered over 8,520 m² of our Texlon® ETFE system to the Piterland waterpark. 80 panels, with a maximum diameter of 4.70 m x 50 m, as well as, two opening vents are incorporated into the structure. The three-layer ETFE system has a silver print on the outer ETFE layer to control solar transmission.
ETFE’s Benefits
ETFE can control solar transmission and let natural light in. Further, its properties allow for long spans, so there is less structure impeding your views of the sky. You may even forget you are inside. The benefits of ETFE for this type of application will keep visitors coming back all four seasons.
