Station with Texlon® ETFE

Following a major restructuring in 2010 the station “Gare de Bellegarde-sur-Valserine” become an interchange serving approximately 75,000 passengers each year on the busy TGV routes between Paris and Lyon and Geneva. The terminal building where passengers can purchase tickets, shop and dine at multiple restaurants is covered with Texlon® ETFE cladding on a wood structure. By incorporating the highly adaptable Texlon® technology, high levels of light transmission can be let into the building to maintain an open air feeling while passengers are protected from the elements.

Wood Structure for the Station’s Texlon® ETFE Roof

The lightweight wood structure with its large individual panels meant that substantial savings could be made in the tonnage. This resulted in cost savings and environmental benefits. The design of the building was based on sustainability, efficiency and quality. Our Texlon® ETFE cladding was a must for the station.

Choose us

We pride ourselves on being the first ETFE manufacturer with an independently verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025:2006 and EN15804. An EPD is a voluntary document, focusing on the environmental impacts associated with the manufacturing of a product or system, and demonstrates that a product has been subjected to rigorous testing to ensure quality.

Vector Foiltec tailors every single ETFE project to the client’s needs and wants. Each project considers local climatic loads, environmental factors, and your very personal design requirements to name a few. With the unparalleled knowledge of our team, your application can be designed to withstand weight that is 300-400 times the weight of ETFE. We are not figuratively speaking: You could place your car on it if you wanted.

What we do: seamlessly combining aesthetics, design and functionality. Contact us and we support you with your next station project – or any other of course.
